Eight Poppies by Donald Sultan

ABOUT THE PRINT
Benefit Print Project is pleased to announce the release of an outstanding new edition by Donald Sultan in support of the Parrish Art Museum. The edition, entitled, Eight Poppies, was printed by Alexander Heinrici of Fine Art Printing, and layered with enamel and flocking to mimic rich tar-like surface of the original canvas on which the print is based.
ABOUT DONALD SULTAN
For more than thirty years, Mr. Sultan has experimented with and expanded still life painting. His work, which travels the line between essentialism and abstraction, is featured in the permanent collections of, amongst other institutions, the Fogg Art Museum, Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts; the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; and the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis.
In 2010, Mr. Sultan was named the distinguished recipient of ArtHamptons Lifetime Achievement Award.
ABOUT THE PARRISH ART MUSEUM
Founded in 1897 as the Art Museum of Southampton, the Parrish Art Museum is devoted to the collection, preservation, interpretation and dissemination of American art with particular focus on the art of the East End of Long Island.
The museum's collections include 19th, 20th and 21st century works in all media from American artists including Thomas Moran, Chuck Close, John Chamberlain, Jennifer Bartlett, Donald Sultan, Elizabeth Peyton and Alfonso Ossorio. Long Island artists include Jackson Pollock, Lee Krasner, Dan Flavin, Willem de Kooning and Roy Lichtenstein.
